Happy New Year! Thank you to all of our amazing students, staff and families for an amazing 2022 and school year so far. We had so many fun events in the Fall and are looking forward to everything that is yet to come
in 2023. This newsletter will be available in ParentSquare and also uploaded to our website: www.rmpfa.org
We were so proud to see our kids spread kindness all last week
during the Great LVUSD Kindness Week in memory of beloved LVUSD board members and past Round Meadow PFA leader, Dr. Kate Vadehra. The campus came alive with daily lunch activities on kindness and culminated with
a great school picture.
February is a busy time--Black History Month, Lunar New Year, and Valentine's Day. We are gearing up for a wonderful Spring--with Read Across America/Read-a-thon, Movie Night, Book Fair and more! There

Principal’s Message
Round Meadow Colts-
Happy February! I hope the new year has started off well for you and your family and that you are staying warm on these windy, rainy days. I look forward to a great spring here at Round Meadow and all the fun and exciting events to come. February 1st is “World Read Aloud” day and our students will participate in this fun event to recognize and promote reading. I hope you’ll join in at home by reading together as a family and also hope you’ll encourage your children to become avid readers. I hope to see many of you at our monthly PFA General meeting (Feb 7th at 6 pm) and look forward to the creative outfits our students wear on the 100th Day of School (2/8). That came fast! We will end the month with our annual “Read Across America” fundraiser while embracing our inner superhero. This month is going to fly by, so get ready! Have a great month, Colts!

February is Black History Month!
The creator of Black History Month was historian Carter G. Woodson. Often referred to as the “Father of Black History,” he was notably the second African American to graduate from Harvard University with a doctorate degree, and is credited with being one of the first scholars to study and research the history of African Americans.
Happy Lunar New Year 2023 is the Year of the Rabbit. According to the Chinese zodiac, the Year of the Rabbit (兔年 tùnián) comes once every 12 years. In Chinese culture, the rabbit has the unique characteristic of waiting for an opportune moment and then leaping into action. More than any other zodiac animal, the rabbit symbolizes luck.
